Breakfast and brunch in Mirante da Floresta, Rio de Janeiro

If you like to have your meal in special places you have to know about Mirante da Floresta in Rio de Janeiro. There you can have a wonderful view to the Tijuca Forest.

The first time I have been there was on January 2019. Rodrigo Dirques is a cooker and he founded the place. The principal idea is make the visitors feel like stay at home.

At the time, the Mirante da Floresta used to open for breakfast and brunch on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9am to 12h30. However, there was availability to reserve for events such as celebrations and dinners.

Rodrigo Dirques thinks about open on Thursdays and Fridays for happy hour in the future!

About the breakfast there are options for everyone tastings. The visitors can have breads, cakes, natural juices, eggs, jellies… Also it is possible some common foods in Brazil like pão de queijo (a kind of bread made of cheese), tapioca (a kind of pancake) and queijo coalho (a kind of cheese).

Some birds and monkeys can visit during breakfast. It did not happen to me, but it would not be bad to receive the visit of any of them!

As well as being a great place to have breakfast you can also stay there. There is a collective room for travelers looking for a lodging option next to nature.

The Mirante da Floresta is in a poor area called Corea in Tijuca neighborhood. Employees live there so it generates income for the locality. It is really safe to go there. The best way to go there is taking an Uber or cab.

Mirante da Floresta is a wonderful place to spend the morning. If you go there you will not feel the time passing by!

It is important to make reservation to go to Mirante da Floresta. About 20 to 30% of the vacancies are reserved for people who do not book it. Breakfast costs 45 reais per person. Children from 5 to 12 years old pay 50% and children under 5 years do not pay. Payment can be made in cash or debit card.
