Cagarras Islands in Rio de Janeiro
In Rio de Janeiro there are so many things to see and visit. Some of them are not too famous but anyway they are wonderful. Going to the Cagarras Islands is one more amazing stuff to do in the city.They are in an environmental preservation area near Ipanema neighborhood.
How to go there? There are company that make boat tours starting in Marina da Glória neighborhood. On January 2019 I had a tour with Alfamar Charter company.
The tour dures about 5 hours. In the way there are so many things to watch: Sugar Loaf, beaches, Santos Dumont Airport… The visitors can see the city in another angle.
Watching the city from the sea you can have pictures that other people don’t have.
If you have some luck it is possible to see dolphins in the way to Cagarras Islands. It didn’t happen to me. For sure you will see lots of birds fishing and flying around when you get near there.
The Cagarras Islands have white stripes that you can see if you are far. It happens because of the birds poop that go there for reproduction or resting. It makes the place looks amazing!
It was a wonderful day of sunshine. Sea bathing is allowed and we enjoyed it of course!
They offer buoys to everyone. So even someone doesn’t know how to swim can enjoy the tour.
The company Alfamar Charter informed that the tour cost 120 reais. It is possible to choose to do diving but the fees for this activity should be consulted.
This is another option in the city of Rio de Janeiro that is not obvious. If you want to have different experiences you should try going to Cagarras Islands!
