Maré Mansa Sunset Tour Experience in Rio de Janeiro

Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro.  This scenario is capable of delighting even those who are used to it.  Have you ever thought about observing the nature’s transitions of this place from the sea?  I speak of watching the sunset on a boat and having the pleasure of recording these moments. I had the opportunity to live this experience in July 2019. The boat is called Maré Mansa.

The Maré Mansa Sunset Tour Experience is a unique tourist proposition, as unlike other boat trips that usually start in the mornings, this tour starts in the middle of the afternoon (more specifically at 3 pm).  The departures take place at Marina da Glória.

I was greeted by Ricardo Miranda, owner and creator of the Maré Mansa Sunset Tour Experience, who told me about the route and the boat.  The boat is designed to comfortably accommodate people and provide a good experience.  The Maré Mansa boat has a total capacity of 48 passengers, and 3 crew members.  There are two bathrooms,  a barbecue and a bar.

At 3pm the Maré Mansa boat departed from Marina da Glória.  Unhurriedly, the crew drove the boat through various tourist spots in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niterói.

We pass the main sights of Guanabara Bay: Fiscal Island, Navy Arsenal, Museum of Tomorrow, Rio-Niterói Bridge, Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói, Santa Cruz Fort, Tamandaré da Lage Fort, São João Fort, Sugar Loaf, Botafogo Cove, Flamengo Beach and Glória neighborhood.

 During the tour, a complimentary drink is served to all passengers.  Nothing like enjoying a drink in a dream setting.

And the sunset?  Ah!  This one makes every experience so special.  Nothing like watching the sun “hide” in the landscapes of Rio. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!

The Maré Mansa Sunset Tour Experience takes place on Thursdays and it lasts 3 hours.  The languages ​​available during the tour are English, Spanish, French and Italian.  The price is 200 reais, and there may be special rates for groups, operators, agencies, receptive and guides. Children 3 years and younger are free.
